thanks for the explanation john. i thought night sprite and subway were perfect choices for vinnie. one song with chops and another with a nice shuffle groove. i was at the adaa and i remember james taylor doing at least 3 songs. i guess those were cut out.

so... how do i get endorsed? haha jk.

Indeed a shame those great artist's couldnt all be there, & all their complete spots allowed on there. But i know there's mucho legality issues, rights, & dividends involved...understandable.

Sometimes certain "representatives" [in this litigious day & age] lose sight of what it's really all about, & actually get in the way of the intent of the whole idea anyway, because there's "jobs" at stake. But that is to be expected. It is indeed made to be somewhat complicated, esp if there's $ issues involved - $ being generated, & by whom. But that, my friends, is the "law of the land" - simply put, capitalism at work at its best [& sometimes worst!]. Cant we just forget about "all that stuff" for awhile & just let the music flow?!

Just the other day, I was listening
to some classic 1970's Gadd, with
Eric Gale, on his solo release
"Multipication". What a sound! I
have never heard, nor will ever
hear a drummer like Steve Gadd!

He's one of my heroes!!!

Hi Guys,

I finaly got my DVD !!!

It's a great one, the sound is better when I watch the dvd with my lap top and headphones than on my home dvd player with the "big sound".
But still sounds good !!!

Yeah my favorite part is the footage scene with Vinnie.
We can see how to make music.
We have to play, but we have to talk, have some friendship and so on, a lot of fun.
Playing with good friends with who you have a long story and a lot of souvenirs is one of the best thing for doing some great music.

Jimmy Johnson is a wonderful musician, he undestands everything about music.
He's really one of my favorite with Mike Landau too and I hope that I could play with them someday...

When Rick is playing with Vinnie, we can see that Vinnie drive the duet and help Rick who is like he says himself a little bit lost.
And Vinnie doesn't care about mistakes, it's just about feeling and spirit, a very good lesson.
And good vibes are there during "Duke's Lullaby".
During the Vinnie's speach, we can see how the Man is so sensible...

A lot of great cats was there too, I think that I saw Horacio, Steve Smith, Russ Miller, Joe Testa, Fred Gruber...

Steve Gadd looks like a kid opening his Christmas presents !!!
His playing is just perfect, so tasty with James Taylor...
He's the Man.

I was wondering, if Dave Weckl was still playing Zildjian, would have he there on stage ?
He's the most Steve Gadd's "drum son" in my opinion...

Anyway, for me it's one of the best drum event ever with the Buddy Rich Memorial (1989).
Thanks to Avedis Zildjian Company for this priceless contributions for the drums and the music community.
